PubMed Citations in LGBT Health

This link will return PubMed citations in LGBT health from 1990 to the present. You can create your own bibliographic library of these PubMed citations by exporting records from this search into a bibliographic software program such as Endnote or Refworks.

To save the records, take the following steps:

  1. In PubMed, from the "Display" tab menu, select "MEDLINE".

  2. In PubMed, from the "Send To" tab menu, select "File". With some browsers, you will be prompted to choose a file name and location to save the file of search results; other browsers will automatically save a the file of the search results to a default location on your computer (eg. "pubmed_result" in "downloads" file in "my documents").

  3. Open your bibliographic software program (eg. Endnote or Refworks) and select "Import." You will be prompted to select a file to import.

  4. Select the PubMed results .txt file just saved to computer and be sure to select the PubMed (NLM) import filter option.

  5. If you have trouble importing or saving the records from the search to your bibliographic software, try the help or FAQs on your software, try a Google search on how to import records from PubMed into your software, or ask your local reference librarian. Many university libraries include step-by-step how-to guides on exporting PubMed citations in Endnote, Refworks, etc.
