Workshop Venue

The Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) is part of the Institute for Social Research (ISR) at the University of Michigan. It is located in the Perry Building at the intersection of E Madison Street, Packard Street and South Division Street in Ann Arbor. It is within walking distance of both Downtown Ann Arbor and the University of Michigan Central Campus. Please note that Sunday's session will be held at the Courtyard Marriott (5-6:30 pm).

Getting to Ann Arbor

By carAnn Arbor is approximately 45 minutes west of Detroit, 4.5 hours from Toronto, 4 hours from Chicago, and 2.5 hours from Cleveland
By trainAnn Arbor's passenger train depot is serviced by the Amtrak Michigan Services Route and runs between Chicago and Detroit, stopping in Northern Ann Arbor

Where to stay

We have made arrangements for discount lodging at the Courtyard Marriott for a rate of $99.00 + tax and the Fairfield Inn Marriott for a rate of $89.00 + tax. The hotels are conveniently located next to each other in Ann Arbor.

Workshop participants may prefer to choose other lodging in Ann Arbor. Please note that the Sunday evening opening session is held at the Courtyard Marriott from 5:00-6:30pm and all participants are expected to attend.

Local Transportation Options

The hotels do not provide shuttle service to and from the hotel and ICPSR. See the following resources to arrange your local transportation.

Rent a car if you rent a car, please be aware of visitor parking availability
Hire a taxi Rates are $3.00 to begin each trip and an additional $2.25 per mile, participants may coordinate among themselves to share rides
Ride a bus Ann Arbor Transit Authority
Rent a bike bikes may be rented from a number of locations in Ann Arbor
Walk it is about 2.7 miles from the hotel to ICPSR, not a pretty walk but doable
